Sandra Hurd
Artist and art therapist from Olympia, WA, Sandra Hurd treats troubled
children in her practice. An outgrowth of her doll and puppet making,
which facilitates her therapy practice, is her painting of "mix and
match narratives".
Sandy paints people in a variety of jobs and
uniforms, as well as a variety of animals, houses, boats and plants.
Then she ships random mixes, allowing for captivating mountings. Priced
according to size, oil on masonite.
From $30-$450.
Janet Van Fleet
A Cabot, VT multi-media artist, Janet Van Fleet began her circle oeuvre
by hand-wiring buttons onto wire grids. She painted background shadows
and then painted the inside plexiglass, resulting in an enormous depth
to the encasements — even better when lit from inside.
Then, in order to cover large areas, she made
constructions from hardware cloth mounts, onto which she attached
painted circles of various sizes. Very cool and very unique.
